Custom Clad is a specialist cladding company based in Victoria and Queensland, working with Tier 1, Tier 2 and Tier 3 builders on commercial projects across a range of industries, including healthcare, infrastructure, retail and accommodation.
We’re seeking an experienced Draftsperson to join our growing team, supporting the design, detailing and documentation of commercial cladding and façade projects.
This is a hands-on role for a technically minded Draftsperson who is confident producing accurate drawings and working closely with our design, fabrication and installation teams. You’ll be involved throughout the process, from reviewing architectural drawings through to preparing shop drawings, manufacturing drawings and CNC tool pathing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed shop drawings for commercial cladding and façade projects.
- Produce manufacturing drawings for fabrication and installation.
- Prepare tool pathing panel drawings for CNC manufacturing.
- Review architectural, engineering and project documentation to ensure drawings are accurate and meet project requirements.
- Develop detailed drawings and documentation for a range of cladding and metalwork applications.
- Coordinate with project managers, designers, fabricators and installers to resolve technical and detailing issues.
- Make revisions to drawings based on project requirements, site conditions and client or builder feedback.
- Ensure drawings are completed accurately and within project deadlines.
- Maintain organised drawing documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Requirements:
- 2–3+ years of experience as a Draftsperson, preferably within construction, façade, cladding or manufacturing.
- Strong technical drawing and detailing skills.
- Experience preparing shop drawings and manufacturing drawings.
- Experience preparing CNC tool pathing panel drawings.
- Strong understanding of architectural and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or relevant drafting software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret technical information and translate it into practical drawings for fabrication.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to deadlines.
- A proactive, organised and practical approach to problem-solving.
