The Opportunity

Our client is looking for an experienced HVAC & Refrigeration Technician who takes genuine pride in their trade and wants to work for a company where good technicians are recognised, trusted, and given the opportunity to do their best work.

Based in Chermside, Brisbane, this is a full-time position with an established and growing HVAC & R business delivering commercial service, maintenance, and project work across Queensland, together with selected domestic work.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants variety, responsibility, and a genuine career, rather than simply another job.

Your experience will be valued. Your technical judgement will matter. And you’ll be given the opportunity to work on a diverse range of commercial HVAC & R equipment and projects, including fit-outs, design & construct projects, service, maintenance, fault finding, and equipment installations.

You’ll work alongside experienced technicians, Project Managers and Building Supervisors, with the support of a professional team that understands what is required to deliver quality work in the real world.

More Than Just a Service Role

Our client is not looking for someone to simply work through a list of service calls.

They're looking for a technician who enjoys diagnosing problems, finding the right solution, and seeing a job through properly.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across different equipment, environments, and applications, keeping your skills current and giving you exposure to work that challenges you technically.

For the right person, there is also the opportunity to become an important part of the wider business — taking ownership of work, developing relationships with customers and site teams, and sharing your knowledge with less experienced technicians.

If you’re already the technician people call when they need a difficult fault sorted, we want to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, service and repair a broad range of commercial HVAC & R equipment and systems.

  • Undertake preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing to keep equipment operating safely, efficiently, and reliably.

  • Install HVAC & R equipment, components, and associated systems across commercial projects.

  • Work across commercial fit outs, design & construct projects, and service environments.

  • Investigate faults, identify root causes, and implement practical, lasting solutions.

  • Liaise directly with clients, Building Supervisors, Project Managers and other stakeholders.

  • Provide professional technical advice and communicate issues and solutions clearly.

  • Complete accurate service reports, job records, and documentation.

  • Ensure work is completed to a high standard and in accordance with Australian Standards, legislation, manufacturer requirements, and company procedures.

  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and professional workmanship.

  • Work collaboratively with the wider team to deliver projects and service requirements efficiently.

  • Support and mentor other technicians where required, helping to build capability and technical confidence across the team.

Requirements

What Our Client Is Looking For:

They're interested in good technicians first — people who are technically capable, reliable, professional and take pride in the work they put their name to.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as an HVAC & R Technician.

  • Strong commercial HVAC & R experience.

  • Experience with commercial fit outs and/or design & construct projects.

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic ability.

  • Broad practical knowledge across commercial HVAC & R equipment and systems.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team.

  • A professional attitude and strong work ethic.

  • A genuine commitment to safety and quality.

  • The confidence and willingness to mentor less experienced technicians.

  • Current Australian driver's licence.

  • Current ARCtick Refrigerant Handling Licence.

  • Current White Card.

  • Current EWP licence.

  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency, where required.

Most importantly our client is looking for someone who is looking beyond their next pay packet and wants to build something long term.

What’s In It for You?

We understand that experienced technicians have choices.

That’s why this role is about more than simply offering you another position.

You’ll become part of a business that values technical ability, initiative, reliability, and professionalism — and where your contribution is recognised.

You can expect:

  • A stable, full-time position with a growing HVAC & R business.

  • Varied commercial service and project work — no two days need to be the same.

  • Ongoing training and professional development.

  • The opportunity to broaden your technical experience across commercial HVAC & R.

  • Access to industry supplier discounts for personal use.

  • Flexible working arrangements where operationally practical.

  • A professional, respectful, and collaborative workplace.

  • The opportunity to develop into greater responsibility as the business continues to grow.

  • The chance to work alongside experienced people who genuinely understand the trade.

  • A workplace where quality workmanship is noticed and valued.

Why Join Our Client?

Our client believes the best businesses are built around good people.

That means creating an environment where technicians can do quality work, have a voice, develop their skills, and take pride in what they achieve.

They want people who are prepared to take ownership rather than simply do the minimum required.

In return, you’ll have the backing of a team that understands the pressures of the industry and is committed to providing the resources, communication and support required to do the job properly.

If you’re ambitious, technically minded and want to be part of a business that is continuing to grow, there is plenty of opportunity there for the right person.

About the Business

Our client is an established and growing HVAC & R business servicing a diverse range of commercial and domestic clients throughout Queensland, NT and NSW.

The business has built its reputation around technical capability, reliable service, quality workmanship and doing what they say they will do.

As the business continues to expand, they are looking for experienced technicians who want to be part of that growth — not simply fill a position.

This is an opportunity to join a company where your experience can make a genuine difference.

Ready for Something Better?

If you’re an experienced HVAC & R Technician who is proud of your trade, enjoys commercial work and is looking for a company where you can build a long-term future rather than simply take another job, we’d like to hear from you.
