Job Description

Gosford Quarries is Australia’s leading sandstone producer, and is widely recognised for its expertise in all areas of quarrying, processing and supply in the residential, commercial building, civil and restoration markets.

Role

This role reports to the Quarry Manager and main responsibilities will include

• Safely Operating Excavator, Loader and other Earthmoving Equipment’s for quarrying sandstone;
• Miscellaneous duties such as, changing tips on a saw, changing implements on the machine and greasing the plant and machines daily;
• Complete prestart daily;
• Follow safety management system as provided in induction starter pack;
• Follow quarry managers instructions;
• Work on all machinery and plant within the plants handbook guidelines;
• Notify management of any unsafe areas in the quarry, or on machinery and plant;
• Notify management of any damage to plant/equipment and customer vehicles within the quarry;
• Keep sound communication to fellow management and workers at all times (uhf radio);
• Reporting accidents in the quarry, or on machinery and plant immediately to management;
• Be flexible to work in any given area of the quarry and work with the highest level of professionalism;

The Successful Applicant

• Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in both Excavator and Loader
• Show interest in learning new skills and have input on ways to improve efficiencies;
• Great can do attitude with a strong work ethic
• Good time management skills
• Able to maintain daily production targets
• Able to follow instructions
• Must be fit, reliable and punctual
• Own transport required
• Must be an Australian Permanent resident/citizen
