Job Title: Coordinator — Irish Australian Support and Resource Bureau (IASRB)
Location: Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
Job Type: Full-time (38hrs)
Reports To: IASRB Committee


Position Summary:

The Coordinator is the primary point of contact for all public and community engagement with the Irish Australian Support and Resource Bureau (IASRB). This person is responsible for the operational management, outreach, and strategic development of the not-for-profit organisation. The Coordinator plays a central role in increasing awareness of IASRB's mission, securing funding through networking and partnerships, and ensuring effective delivery of support services across the Irish-Australian community in Victoria.


Key Responsibilities:

Community Engagement and Outreach

• Serve as the first point of contact for all individuals, organisations, and stakeholders reaching out to IASRB.
• Foster strong relationships with clients, community groups, Irish and Australian government agencies, and other service providers.
• Promote IASRB services through community presentations, events, and social media.


Service Coordination and Delivery

• Coordinate and oversee the delivery of IASRB's core services (managing and supporting the IASRB’s outreach worker) including:
• Home, hospital, or prison visits by volunteers.
• Outreach support and guidance on health, legal, welfare, and housing matters.
• Missing persons assistance and funeral arrangements.
• Support with unemployment, clothing, food, and bureaucracy navigation.
• Passport form assistance, leisure recommendations, and community integration help.

• Monitor client needs and work with volunteers and specialists to ensure prompt, compassionate, and culturally sensitive support.


Fundraising and Networking

• Develop and maintain donor and partner relationships with individuals, community leaders, businesses, and funding bodies.
• Organise fundraising campaigns and events to support IASRB’s operations and visibility.
• Identify and pursue grant opportunities and prepare funding proposals with the support of the board.


Administration and Governance

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the bureau, including email, phone, records, and appointment scheduling.
• Support board meetings with agendas, reporting, and implementation of decisions.
• Maintain accurate records of service delivery, donations, volunteer activities, and stakeholder engagement.


Volunteer Coordination

• Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers who assist in service delivery and events.
• Ensure volunteers are well-supported and understand the mission and policies of IASRB.


Public Relations and Communications

• Represent IASRB in public settings, media engagements, and community forums.
• Develop outreach materials including newsletters, brochures, and updates on IASRB activities.
• Maintain the IASRB website and social media presence with current information and community engagement efforts.


Key Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a community-based, nonprofit, or support services setting.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills.
• Strong organisational and administrative capabilities.
• Passion for community welfare and cultural support services.
• Experience in fundraising, volunteer management, and event coordination is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Irish and/or migrant community needs is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
